Fly in Premium Comfort: Hire a Private Jet to Bordeaux

Bordeaux Airport is only a few kilometres away from the city centre. Two runways serve both commercial and private aircraft. Special amenities such as a VIP lounge allow business travellers to relax or to carry on working away from the airport’s hustle and bustle.

History of Bordeaux Airport

Bordeaux Mérignac Airport (BOD) is very centrally located. Domestic and international flights take off and land only a little over 10 kilometres west of Bordeaux. One of the airport’s unique features is that it is used by both civilian and military aircraft. After the airport opened in 1917, it served exclusively military purposes during both the First and Second World Wars, during which time it was often the target of air raids.

In the following years, the airport was completely rebuilt and restructured under the leadership of the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce, with separate areas for military and civilian flights. The latter includes both commercial and charter flights at Bordeaux (BOD). Of the two terminals, one is devoted to servicing low-cost airlines.
