Book a Private Jet to Milan Linate

Milan Linate Airport (LIN) is one of two international airports in Italy’s second largest city. Owing to the airport’s proximity to the city centre, arrival and departure periods are very short and, for the same reason, LIN Airport is especially popular with business travellers. Furthermore, Milan Linate’s wide range of exclusive services are ideal for private passengers.

Milan Linate Airport: From Flying Boats to Private Jets

Originally named after the Italian aviation pioneer Enrico Forlanini, Milan Linate Airport was first opened in 1937. In its first few years, the airport served both land aircraft and flying boats. The latter started out from and landed on the neighbouring Lake Idroscalo, a man-made body of water constructed solely to facilitate flying boat travel in the region. Until the late 1990s, Linate Airport was the most important air travel hub in the city of Milan. With the expansion of Milan Malpensa – the city’s other airport – flight traffic to Linate was restricted to 18 flight movements per hour. International travel from the airport was also curtailed. Owing to these changes, Milan LIN Airport is now less busy than Malpensa. For domestic connections and business flights, however, the airport remains an attractive departure or landing point.

Private Jet Charter from Milan Linate

Milan Airport Linate is approximately 8 kilometres outside the city centre. Due to the limited number of international flights, the airport is mainly used for domestic flights. The importance of the airport for business travel is largely due to its proximity to Italy’s second largest city and several centres of industry. As both the city centre and major business centre are only a few kilometres away, travelling from Milan Linate to business commitments is a painless experience. The airport’s location in northern Italy also makes it an excellent starting point for flights to other European countries. With a private jet from Milan Linate, one needs only an hour or two to reach any of the following European destinations:

A charter flight from Milan Linate to Rome Ciampino (CIA) takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. From the airport, which is located 15 kilometres east of Rome, a car journey to the city centre takes about 35 minutes. For a quick and comfortable journey to the city, a helicopter transfer is highly recommended. A flight by private jet from Milan LIN to Paris Le Bourget (LBG) takes a little longer, at around 1 hour and 30 minutes. The airport is approximately 16 kilometres away from Paris city centre and chauffer-driven limousines can be booked from the terminal. Charter flights from Milan to Nice (NCE) take 1 hour. Thanks to the proximity of the airport to the city, onward journeys to the centre of Nice or even the Principality of Monaco take very little time. As with Nice, the flight from Milan to Geneva Airport (GVA) takes 1 hour. As a major hub for private jets and business flights, the Swiss airport is ideally suited to serve the needs of discerning passengers. The journey from Milan Linate to Olbia (OLB), Sardinia, takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. From here you can reach the Costa Smeralda, in the north of Sardinia. The journey from the airport to Porto Cervo takes approximately 30 minutes by car.

Milan LIN Airport is 108 meters (354 ft) above sea level and is the second largest airport in the city after Milan Malpensa (LIMC). Each year 118,650 (2015) flights are handled there, which carry over 9.6 million (2015) passengers; many of these are charter flights. For those who wish to charter a plane and fly from or to Milan Linate, the airport can offer exclusive services. The services include:

  • Car valet service
  • Access to VIP lounges
  • Private security and passport controls
  • Private transfer to the aircraft
  • Conference rooms of different sizes
  • Concierge service

As Milan Linate Airport can be approached using both Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrumental Flight Rules (IFR), take-off and landing is also possible in bad weather conditions. Unlike some other airports in the region, there is no ban on night-time flights, so the airport can be used at any time. There is a terminal dedicated to private jet flights at LIN Airport, the "Milano Linate Prime". For landing and take-off, two fixed runways are available for charter flights to and from Milan Linate. The larger of the two runways can be used by all common aircraft types:

Runway Length and width Surface
17/35 601 m × 22 m Asphalt
18/36 2,440 m × 60 m Asphalt

Milan Linate Airport Passenger Transfers

On request, the Milan Linate concierge service can arrange transfers between the terminals as well as to the centre of Milan. A wide selection of exclusive cars are available for this purpose. Of course, there are also taxis as well as rental cars (with or without a driver) at the airport.
