Book a Private Jet from Bournemouth: Gateway to the Channel Islands

Bournemouth Airport is an international airport on the south coast of England, making it an ideal starting point for flights to the British Channel Islands. In less than an hour, you can cross the Channel from here by private jet to arrive comfortably in Jersey or Guernsey.

History: From RAF Hurn to Bournemouth Airport

Today's Bournemouth BOH Airport was first put into operation as a military airfield, designated RAF Hurn, by the Royal Air Force. From 1944 the airport was also used for civil reasons. From 1951, airplanes were also built and maintained in the halls.

In 1969, the military airfield was finally renamed Bournemouth Airport and soon developed into a regional airport for flights from Bournemouth to the British Channel Islands. In 1993, regular charter flights from Bournemouth to the Mediterranean took place, after which the airport was renamed Bournemouth International Airport.

Since 2001, the Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which is also responsible for Manchester (EGCC/MAN), has run the airport. In 2007, the terminals were renovated and new parking spaces created as part of an extensive expansion programme. In 2009, the airport was certified for landings under bad weather conditions (CAT III) and instrumental landing systems (ILS), making travel to and from the airport considerably easier for commercial flights.
