Charter Flights from or to Inverness
Inverness Airport is located 15 kilometres outside of the city and has two runways at its disposal that private jets and other light aircraft can use. For light aircraft passengers, besides the professional check-in service, there is also the possibility for self-check-in.
Inverness Airport’s History
The space was constructed in 1949 as the Royal Air Force station Dalcross and was initially used exclusively as a military airfield. The airport opened for civilian use in 1947. The first regular flight route was established in the 1970s between Inverness and London Heathrow. In 2012, the south apron area, mostly used as a carpark, was extended in order to allow larger aircraft access to the terminal. In 2013, following an extension of the runway, the road surfaces were renewed allowing for a direct link between the airport and business park.
